I adore the spontaneity and energy of fly posters, street art and graffiti, and have chosen this as a vehicle to express my emotions in this piece. I’m fascinated by the impulsive nature, purity of expression and the dreamlike quality of theses multimedia collaborative collages and producing these from my own creative wellspring.
The flow and shape of the ripped posters unintentionally formed a fire-like pattern, which along with the abundance of red and yellow hues informed the name of the piece. The inclusion of a hand grenade graphic in this context adds a sense of drama and imminent danger.
