I adore the spontaneity and energy of fly posters, street art and graffiti, and have chosen this as a vehicle to express my emotions in this piece. I’m fascinated by the impulsive nature, purity of expression and the dreamlike quality of theses multimedia collaborative collages and producing these from my own creative wellspring.
Usually towards the end of creating a work like this, I step back and carefully assess whether some areas need to be calmed or lifted, but here I found myself unusually satisfied. All I could think to myself was that this one was already singing, hence the title Alto. This word also appears in the upper third of the work in dark blue spray paint.
