Like much of my work, this piece is playful, experimental and spontaneous. Here I attempt to merge digital illustration with photography and automatic writing.
The crow illustration was inspired by a series of photographs taken on the south coast of England of a murder of crows that always sat on a particular spot on a cliffside. The photographs are of various scraps, palettes and drawing boards that I had in my studio which I found to be unexpectedly beautiful, much like the aforementioned group of birds. The phrase was taken from one of my automatic writing sessions, again in the same spirit of spontaneous discovery.
