I adore the spontaneity and energy of fly posters, street art and graffiti, and have chosen this as a vehicle to express my emotions in this piece. I’m fascinated by the impulsive nature, purity of expression and the dreamlike quality of theses multimedia collaborative collages and producing these from my own creative wellspring.
This piece was named after the white crown shape in the upper part of the painting, which stems from my recent fascination with the constant battle for dominance between human society and nature, particularly in urban areas. The pencil drawing of a blackbird, inclusion of a deer image and base layer of a traffic sign also relate to this theme.
